# How to compare robotaxi services

Compare robotaxi services by status, service area, airports served, freeway access, how to book and price. Start with the city page, then open the listing for each operator you find there.

Updated 2026-10-20. Also on the [web page](https://robotaxis.fyi/guides/how-to-compare-robotaxi-services).

Start with the city you want to ride in. Open the city page on this site to see which robotaxi services are listed there. Each service is one operator running rides in one city. The city page groups services by status: public, waitlist, testing or announced.

Open the listing for each service you find. Every listing shows the operator name, its status and the area it serves. Read the status first. Public means anyone can hail a ride today. Waitlist means riders join a queue. Testing and announced mean the public cannot ride yet.

Compare the service area. The listing describes the zone the operator publishes. Some services cover a whole metro area. Others serve a set of neighbourhoods or one district. If you live outside the zone, the service may not pick you up. Check the app for the exact boundary.

Check the airports. Some services serve the city airport and let you start or end a trip there. This matters if you travel by air and want a robotaxi to and from the terminal. The listing shows IATA codes for the airports served.

Check freeway access. A service that lists freeway access can take the highway between parts of the city. A blank field means the operator does not publish it.

Compare how to book. Each listing names the app or apps that hail the service. Waymo rides book in the Waymo or Uber or Lyft app. Tesla Robotaxi rides book in the Tesla Robotaxi app. Apollo Go rides book in the Apollo Go app. Some services work through more than one app. Download the app before you travel and confirm the service area.

Compare the price. Most operators set fares inside the app and do not publish a rate card. The listing shows a price note where one exists: free rides, metered fares in the app or Uber pricing when matched through Uber. A blank price cell means the operator does not publish a figure.

Look at the source and the date. Every row names the source URL it was checked against and the date an editor last read it. Coverage changes monthly. A recently checked listing is more current than an older one. Use the Compare robotaxi services tool on this site to put two or three listings side by side.

## Questions

### How many services should I compare?

Most cities have one or two operating services. The site's Compare robotaxi services tool lets you put two or three side by side.

### What if a price cell is blank?

Most operators do not publish a per-mile rate. The listing shows a price note instead, such as fares set in the app or free rides.

> **Check before you ride.** Robotaxis.fyi lists where driverless and monitored ride services run, from operator pages and public permit records. Service areas, hours and prices change often and sometimes without notice: confirm in the operator's app before you travel. A listing is a record, not a recommendation.
